The national Citizens Advice have a specialist Consumer team dedicated to dealing with consumer issues.
It’s free, independent and confidential. Specially trained advisers can help with things like holidays & transport, buying or repairing a car, scams, things that have gone wrong with a purchase, insurance, water, phone/internet or TV, home improvements, changing your mind on a purchase, post, event tickets, vets & pets, and energy supply issues.
The helpline adviser can:
- give you practical and impartial advice on how to resolve your consumer problem
- tell you the law which applies to your situation
- pass information about complaints on to Trading Standards (you can’t do this yourself
The helpline adviser cannot:
- make a complaint for you
- take legal action on your behalf
